I just tried comparing a full-frame 43MP Sony A7R3 and 135/1.8 Sigma lens bought for $1200 to a 16MP micro 4/3 Panasonic GM5 with an adapted FED 50/2.8 lens (E26m) obtained at a used book store for $4. Sony wins considerably on all counts other than size, which is to be ( Read more... )

My 5DSR is being inconsistent. I’d like to try adjusting it to individual lenses, but it seem that it doesn’t focus the same way twice, so there’s no baseline for adjustments. Perhaps I am doing something wrong? I can work more with my Sony body for now, or use Live View ( Read more... )

I am trying to find a currently produced TV monitor that would support 3D content…but can’t find anything listed. Suggestions?

Also, is there any currently made 3D camera, or Fuji Real 3D W3 is it?

The winner is Panasonic GM5 with 20/1.7 lens, carried in CCW Breakaways pants. The main challenge now is to find a reasonably priced used GM5 body that’s not bundled with a zoom lens. Any pointers?

Sony NEX7 with 20mm/2.8 pancake…fits all needs except macro. Same with 30/3.5 macro fits all needs except pocketability. It would even mount the FE 55/1.8 as a short tele.

From standpoint of ergonomics, Olympus Pen F would bring articulated LCD and internal stabilization, plus ( Read more... )
